Sound at the highest level C-series for Romania's new concert hall reference
The construction of the new campus of the Gheorghe Dima National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, has marked the completion of an extraordinary cultural project. After four years of construction, a unique national center for musical education and performance has been created – covering more than 27,000 m² with state-of-the-art infrastructure for artists, lecturers, and students.
The heart of the campus: the new Heritage Hall – a concert hall with 1,032 permanently installed seats. According to Rector Vasile Jucan, it is the largest concert venue built in Romania since 1989. Fully funded by the Romanian state, it represents a powerful commitment to the cultural future of the country. With its oval architecture, high-quality wooden finishes (Gustafs panels and pinewood stage), and excellent acoustics, it offers a space that meets the highest international standards.
Clear decision for TWAUDiO monitoring
To harmonize the acoustic quality on stage with the room acoustics, TWAUDiO loudspeakers were chosen for the monitoring system. The selected components:
- 8 × C12 coaxial monitors
- 12 × C15 coaxial monitors
Powerful sound for the highest demands
“I was very impressed by the sound of the TWAUDiO systems – especially the coaxial monitors. These monitors provide exactly what we need: clarity, presence, and maximum speech intelligibility at every position on stage. This is the only way to bring intelligibility to the next level.”
Ovidiu Barbu, Sound Engineer, Gheorghe Dima Academy of Music
The monitoring system is used not only by students of the academy but also by guest artists and ensembles – including the Cluj-Napoca Philharmonic Orchestra, which performs regularly in the Heritage Hall.
A project with impact
For system integrator Kresan Andrei, this project was more than just a technical challenge:
“Expectations were extremely high – and rightly so. This installation is a new reference for Romania and a flagship for our work. We are very pleased that TWAUDiO was able to impress with its quality.”
Kresan Andrei, Manager Quintett-Group
