A quote from Metal Hammer (by Stephen Hill, Metal Hammer June, 30th 2024), the day after reggae metallers Skindred's stunning performance at Glastonbury Festival on the Avalon Stage. With their unique mix of reggae and metal, they brought 12,000 fans to their feet and wrote another chapter in the history of this legendary festival.

On September 19, 1970, the immortal rock legends of the 70s such as Marc Bolan, The Kinks and Al Stewart paid their respects on the idyllic farm of a dairy farmer in the southwest of England: the birth of the Glastonbury Festival - a moment that was to write music history.

Today, the festival itself is a living legend among the world's open-air events. From June 26-30, nearly 220,000 people flocked to a sold-out site to party with 2,400 artists spread across no less than 79 stages.

Every major international band has performed on these hallowed stages over the years, and this year visitors once again experienced the magic of performances by the likes of Coldplay, Shania Twain, Dua Lipa and Skindred.

TWAUDiO at two Glastonbury Festival venues

TWAUDiO was represented on two stages: The Avalon Stage and the new Woodsies Tree Stage (video) were managed by WAVE CO Productions, which has been successfully using TWAUDiO systems for years. The WAVECo crew was supported on site by Tobias Goldmann (system admin) and Greg Oliver (CEO TWAUDiO UK).

Particularly noteworthy is the Avalon Stage ,which is considered one of the main stages among the 79 stages of the festival. 18 VERA36 tops were used in combination with 6 end-fired flown VERA S33, 16 further were ground stacked in combination with 4 BSX as infra supplement. T24N and T20 were used as fill systems inside and outside the tent. T24N and T20 served as fill systems inside and outside the tent. The whole system was powered by 12 Dynacord TGX/IPX amplifiers (many thanks also to Harry Bishop from HPA for his support with Dynacord amplifiers).

But not only SKINDRED benefited from the VERA36 sound: Other bands like The Feeling, Lulu (who had her last performance after 6! decades of music history), Kate Nash, Cut Capers, The Cat Empire or one of the Britartpop UK legends: TOYAH Willcox.

At the new Tree Stage in the park, 28 M12s and 8 B18s were used with Full Fat Audio amps. The combination of the wonderful natural surroundings, the creative design and the immersive use of the TWAUDiO speakers created an unforgettable atmosphere that once again made the Glastonbury Festival an incomparable event.

We'd like to thank the sound engineers and stage crews who have been so kind and appreciative of our systems and on-site support. Among others, Craig Leach, FOH for Lucy Spraggan (video) mentioned us enthusiastically: "TWAUDiO made my day in the middle of a tent at Glastonbury this year. Mixing in tents tends to be horrible, but when I line checked my file and dialled in the first few songs of the Lucy Spraggan set the PA behaved in a way ive never had a PA behave in a tent. The deployment and coverage was exceptional and the PA sounded amazing. Huge fan of the rig and thoroughly looking forward to working more on TWAUDiO systems."

The foh engineer for The Feeling (headlined Sunday night) Johnny Dodkin commented: “First time mixing the Feeling on TWAUDiO at Avalon Stage Glastonbury, I dialed in blind and the PA sang out beautifully in the tent, the bottom end stayed consistent to the back of the venue. The main PA delivered smooth and detailed top end in a very full tent. It reacted to my smallest of tweaks to the eq. I was impressed!”

Louie Michael, FOH at The Cat Empire, concluded: "Big love to the house crew on this one. System was tuned immaculately. Crew were as supportive as you could ask. UK/EU techs are their own beasts. Minimalism is key on system tuning."
