Immersive Sound Design for Historic Anniversary 200-Year Summit of Slovenská sporitelna

To mark its 200th anniversary, Slovenská sporitelna, the largest commercial bank in Slovakia, hosted a high-profile summit event that brought together history, innovation, and visions of the future. The venue was an acoustically challenging event hall measuring approximately 40 × 40 meters, requiring an exceptional sound concept with a strong focus on speech intelligibility, musical quality, and immersive content.

Complex requirements – three stages, immersive sound

The event concept featured three stages: a central main stage and two opposing action areas. In addition, video and FX content was designed to envelop the entire space and be supported by a coherent spatial audio design. The key challenge was to achieve even sound coverage with precise localization, while maintaining excellent intelligibility for spoken word and convincing musical performance.

Custom system solution with TW AUDiO

The system design was led by Tomas Lecky, Managing Director and Sound System Integration Designer at TL Pro, supported by sound engineers Pavol Kvacka and Pavol Pogany. An extensive TW AUDiO setup was deployed, consisting of a total of eight flown arrays, working together to create a homogeneous and immersive sound field throughout the entire venue.

The main systems combined VERA36 line arrays with VERA S33 subwoofers, showcasing their strengths in orchestral music and band performances. The setup was complemented by VERA10 with VERA S30 as well as B18 and BSX subwoofers for extended low-end performance, a T24N as center fill, and T20, M8, and C-series loudspeakers for front fill, near fill, and targeted accents within the space.

Precise low-frequency control

A key factor in the overall success was the cardioid operation of the VERA S33 subwoofers. This configuration significantly reduced unwanted low-frequency reflections on stage and delivered a clearly defined, natural bass response – a crucial contribution to the transparency and impact of the entire system.

Immersive experience with maximum intelligibility

The interaction of all loudspeaker positions created an impressive spatial listening experience, perfectly aligned with the visual content. At the same time, speech intelligibility remained at the highest level – for spoken presentations as well as musical performances, ranging from symphonic orchestras to operatic voices placed directly within the room.
