Independence Day celebrations in Malaysia reinforced by TWAUDiO systems

The Sultan Abdul Amad Building, situated at Merdeka square formed the perfect scenery for Malaysia’s 59th Independence Day Parade to mark the country’s development and independence gained from the British Empire back in August of 1957.

The opening ceremony in the morning began with the national anthem and the reading of the Malaysian Declaration of the National Philosophy before a variety of performances entertained the crowds, ending in the much awaited parade.

A two month planning period alongside government officials, the Malaysian Department of Information together with Fajar Baiduri Events (FBE) and the support of TW AUDiO ASIA went ahead beforehand due to the strict protocol that had to be followed considering the ministers and royalty attending the parade.

The event’s technical director, Tengku Abdul Halim, was very happy with the collaboration of Fajar Baiduri Events and TW AUDiO ASIA.
“This is the first year in the many years of my organizing the celebrations, that the first setup of the PA system worked right away”, says Tengku Abdul Halim. “FBE did a very good job together with Augustine Edward from TW AUDiO ASIA from the planning phase to choosing the right system, setting it up and aligning it under consideration of the various, sometimes difficult sound requirements for the one kilometer stretch of the parade, the VIP grand stand and the square itself. The sound was crystal clear and the intelligibility incredibly good.”

24 x VERA36, 8 x S33 and 12 x VERA10 were placed around the square where all the performances took place.
Facing the VIP grand stand were a total of four lifts, each carrying 3 x VERA36 complemented by 2 x S33 as ground stack.
24 x VERA10 and 16 x S30 were distributed evenly along the one kilometer stretch of the parade passing the square and the VIP grand stand. The entire system was powered by Lab.gruppen amplifiers.

This year again, the residents of Kuala Lumpur have been celebrating together showing their unity in all aspects.
